not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us[a] to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

All we like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned, every one, to his own way;
And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ,[a] for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
