Rejoice!
If you had a bad week this week, you can be thankful that you were not:
charged with crimes you didn’t commit,

Rejoice!

If you had a bad week this week, you can be thankful that you were not:

charged with crimes you didn’t commit,

unjustly judged,

beaten with wood rods,

put in solitary confinement,

or chained to the wall,

all because God used you to free a

demon possessed girl.

That was Paul and Silas’ week in Acts 16. They were imprisoned in Philippi and unsure of how long they would remain there. Paul and Silas chose to sing praise and give thanks to their faithful unchanging God, who loved them so much that He sent His Son to die in their place and forgive their sin. Paul and Silas could not rejoice in their situation or how they felt, but they could rejoice in the Lord for who He is and all that He has done. When life gets tough, remember:

“REJOICE in the LORD always, and again I say REJOICE!” Phil. 4:4
