Bible Reading Plan:

The New Testament in One Year

One of our core values at Refuge is our love for the Word of God.

We put a high priority in reading, studying and making life application in God’s Word — and why wouldn’t we? God’s Word is one of the most important tools He has given us to know His will and His way. That’s why it would make sense that His people, the church, would spend time with it.

We are excited to start this daily reading of the New Testament in 2027.  It is our hope that you will join us as we journey through God’s Word. We believe there is both beauty and a blessing in doing this together as a church.

  • Strength and accountability in numbers so that if one grows weary or gets off track, we can encourage each other to start back up again.

  • Power of the Word of God being shared and prayed over daily by the

  • congregation as we are in His Word.

  • Opportunity to invite others to join us in reading through the New

  • Testament and having an impact on the lives of the people around us. Invite family, friends or coworkers to join you in the journey.

The BIG Win for our church family is to read through the New Testament in 2027 together, to hear God speak, and to have the Refuge family testify to what He is doing in their devotion times.

How We Will Grow Deeper Together

Make reading God’s Word a priority in your day. We need to allow the Bible to have an important place in our daily lives.

When you open God’s Word:

Pray: ask God to speak then be open with a receptive heart.

Journal: keep a written record of what God is saying to you.  It’s a great opportunity to look back after a year in His Word and see what God shared with you in your journal.A good Bible journaling method that may help you is the acronym SOAP.

  • Scripture: read the chapter for the day

  • Observation: observe what is going on in the chapter you read

  • Application: how does God want to apply this text or a verse from the text to your life

  • Prayer: write out a prayer for the text that day and allow God to minister to you through it

  • Through The Word Bible App - 10 min daily audio guide that gives you context and understanding about the chapter you read every day.
