Geoff Wilson • Family + Connections Pastor
Pastor Geoff started as a volunteer youth ministry leader in 2000. He started at Refuge in 2006, as an assistant pastor with an emphasis on missions. A few years later, he became the high school youth pastor, where he stayed until recently when he took over the connections ministry. Geoff and his wife, Bethany, also help to lead the young married couples ministry. In 2010, Geoff graduated from Talbot Theological Seminary with his M.DIV. Geoff also serves as overseer for Refuge Family Ministries.

Alyn Loyd • Associate Pastor
An HB native, Pastor Alyn began pastoral ministry in his 30s, while volunteering in various capacities at Calvary Chapel Vista in San Diego county. After three years on staff there, he and his family moved to London to help with a church plant. They moved back to SoCal in 1998, when Pastor Bill asked him to take on the role of associate pastor for Calvary Chapel HB. In this role, he oversees the ministries of Refuge, administrates the day-to-day operation of Refuge, leads the men’s ministry, and helps to facilitate the Refuge vision for Pastor Bill.
Joy Welsh • Women's Ministry Director
Joy began ministry in 1972 at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa in the nursery. After marrying Pastor Bill in 1973, she ministered in the capacity of women’s bible studies from their first pastorate in 1978 and continues to be the director of women’s ministries at Refuge. She has ministered to women in many other countries, as well as here in the US. Her passion is that women would love Jesus and know why they believe what they believe.
Jonathan Trask • Children's Ministry Director
Jonathan has been designing, directing and managing youth and children’s ministry programs for over a decade. He is passionate about creative ministry and wants to help parents develop deep Christ-centered relationships with their children.

David Taylor • High School Director
David's deepest desire is to know and experience Jesus more and more and to see people's lives change as they experience the relentless love of their Creator. He has attended Refuge since 2010, and has served in various ministries. He graduated from Calvary Bible College in 2015, and is attending Faith International University to receive his Bachelor's in Religion. He is happily married to his wife Lucia, who spurs him on daily to be the man God created him to be. In his free time, he loves playing music, watching soccer, reading and making memories with friends and family.
Chase Acuña • Local Outreach Director + Young Adults Director
Chase is a follower of Jesus, husband, father and a sinner saved by grace. His greatest desire is to know and enjoy Jesus, and from the outflow serve God and bring glory to Him in every aspect of life. His passion is to see people transformed by the Good News of Jesus! He is madly in love with his beautiful wife, Jess, and loves to spend time with her and their son, Zion. Chase loves to read, study, build relationships, play music, workout, eat sushi, and go to the beach! Chase has attended Calvary Chapel Bible College, Calvary Chapel School of Worship, and has served in a variety of capacities in ministry, from leading worship, youth and college ministry, running skateboard ministries, and teaching God's word.
Jonathan Ferguson • Junior High Leader + Missions Director
Jonathan has been part of the Refuge family since 2001, serving in the high school ministry before becoming the junior high pastor in 2005. In 2009, Jonathan and his family moved to Nairobi, Kenya, where they spent the next seven years helping develop leadership in various churches before moving back to Huntington Beach in 2016. When not at church, Jonathan is usually studying history or refereeing wrestling matches between his boys.
Tri Lam • Vietnamese Pastor
In 1978 during a hot Vietnamese summer, Pastor Tri came to Christ inside a gulag in spite of a new atheist order within the country. Transferred to another gulag, he studied under another Christian prisoner, and God soon called Tri to secretly teach the Bible himself within the gulags he was later transferred to. After finally being released in 1980 and with his new underground pastoral training, he went on to serve as a leader, teacher, deacon, and preacher at a local church for 10 years. Within that rural farming community he shepherded, preached the gospel, and trained lay leaders. Immigrating to the US in 1994, he served God as a teacher, assistant pastor, minister of eduction in local churches, and now is a Senior Pastor of the Vietnamese ministry at Refuge.
Isaac Rosa • SundayNights Overseer
Isaac's passionate pursuit in life is to enjoy Jesus and to see the Great Commission lived out among the family at Refuge. He is committed to spreading the worth of King Jesus in HB through the expository preaching of God's Word. Isaac oversees the SundayNights ministry, as well as two local ministry houses where discipleship is fostered in the everyday lives of men and women. Isaac earned his undergraduate degree through CCBCE and he is currently pursuing his master's degree in Biblical and Theological studies from Western Seminary. He is excited to be seeking his certification in Biblical Counseling from ACBC in order to better serve and equip the Church.
