About us

Voice of Refugees (VOR)’s mission is to put God’s love in action by assisting refugee and asylum-seeking families to stabilize, integrate, and thrive in the United States. We provide programs that meet both practical and spiritual needs:

• Food & Furniture Support — We provide groceries, household items, and furniture so that families experience stability from day one.

• Women Empowerment & ESL — We teach English and life skills so that women gain confidence, find their voice, and lead their families toward independence.

• Children & Youth Mentorship — We offer camps, tutoring, and discipleship so that children and teens grow in faith, resilience, and belonging.

• Career & College Readiness — We equip youth and adults with job coaching and education tools so that they can achieve self-sufficiency and long-term success.

• Community & Church Engagement — We partner with local churches so that refugee families build authentic friendships and experience the love of Christ in community.

As Christians, we are guided by the teachings of Jesus Christ in our Holy Bible, emphasizing loving our global neighbor, compassion for foreigners, and service to anybody who needs help. We believe in treating everyone with respect and dignity, reflecting Christ’s love in all we do. Our work is driven by the compassionate heart of the Lord Jesus to alleviate suffering and promote human dignity, remembering that our actions and decisions are informed by the Bible. 

Prayer requests

• Pray for the whole VOR community (board, staff, volunteers, community partners) to be rooted in the wisdom and grace of Christ and be united in His hope as we journey with refugees walking through unstable times.

• Pray for God’s direction and provision to minister to every refugee, whom He knows by name, and lead each family to find true refuge in Christ.

• Pray for families under extreme stress and burdens to experience miraculous breakthroughs as they cry out to Him.

• Pray for every community partnership with churches, businesses, and organizations to be led by the Holy Spirit, for consistent, God-honoring testimony of the body of Christ. 

• Pray for faithful stewardship of resources (donations, space, equipment, time, etc.) and relationships.

• Pray for divine strength, perseverance, and protection over our servant leaders (executive director and board), their families, and their discernment of God’s direction every season. 

• Pray for everything we do to be anchored in the cross and love of Christ, and all the glory and honor be to God.
